Looking at new activities, staying at the contemporary, Stumbled upon someone talking about the mosiac making but can’t find any other info for it. Also the new making a crown in MK does it require a reservation

    Hiya Tara,

Welcome back to planDisney! We love helping Guests plan vacations to Disney, so it is always super exciting when we have people come back and visit us. First, let me say that I love the way you plan vacations. The activities at the resort hotels are always so incredible, and Guests don’t always take time to take them all in because they are enjoying time in the theme parks. I always try to schedule at least a couple of hours a day just to take in the resorts each trip. Not only does it benefit me to have a little break with two little Mouseketeers under 3, but I also love taking in the comings and goings at my resort.

The Magic of Mosaics activity has been on my bucket list for my next trip since I saw a flyer at the Contemporary Resort last year. I love how the mosaics are inspired by Mary Blair. During that trip, the mosaic experience was scheduled for Mondays and Fridays in the afternoon from 1-3 pm in the Outer Rim area of the resort. While you can use this to create a tentative hold in your itinerary, the specific schedule for the experience is subject to change. One way to create a more concrete plan is to reach out to a Cast Member in Enchanting Extras (407-939-7529). They may be able to provide some insight into the specific timing for the mosaic experience in August. If they cannot, check out the activities calendar in the Contemporary Resort (you can also find a flier with information on how to book the experience near the elevators on each floor) when you check in to confirm the exact schedule for August.

Another great experience is the Arribas Tiara Foundry at Crystal Arts in Magic Kingdom! I just had this experience last month with my two-year-old princess, and it was a lot of fun. She loved picking out the tiara and the colored gems. Admittedly, mama had to finish the process since her attention span (of about 1 minute) sent her running towards the bubble wands back on Main Street, U.S.A., but we still had a blast. The experience does not require a reservation, but it can be popular, so you may have to wait a little while. When I was there, they only had two stations and one magical Cast Member, so I had to wait about 15 minutes from when I got in line to when I customized my tiara. I suggest prioritizing this experience for either earlier in the morning or later in the evening. I went around midday, and it was busier than it was when I stopped by in the morning.

I hope this was helpful, Tara. If there is anything else you need please come back and see us.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
