Ahoy there, Amber! Welcome aboard planDisney!
Now that's what I call a smart Texan - looking at sailing away (relatively) close to home from Galveston, TX! As someone whose favorite ship in the fleet is the Disney Wonder, I've loved experiencing ports like Galveston, New Orleans, San Diego, and Vancouver over the years! Even though the
Disney Magic is taking over some of the itineraries sailing out of those cities in the near future, these departure ports are definitely not-to-be-missed!
Strictly speaking, Disney Cruise Line allows each Guest to bring two pieces of checked luggage, a carry-on bag, and a personal item. The only size limitations pertain to the carry-on bag, which must meet typical airline carry-on luggage dimensions (no larger than 22" x 14" x 9') and be able to go through the cruise terminal scanners. Not only does this simplify packing for both a potential flight and the cruise, but it makes sure that your crew has plenty of
luggage tags for your checked baggage when they arrive in your Disney Cruise Line booklet by mail!
I hope that helps put you on a course to smooth sailing, Amber! Thanks so much for your question and if you have any others as you continue planning, please drop us another line here at planDisney!
Until then, may your anchor be tight and your compass true!
Andrew
