Looking at the Keys to the Kingdom tour and wondering about accessibility. Is it really wheelchair/scooter accessible? She can transfer and walk short distances, but not for 5 hrs. Would she miss anything in the tour by being in one? Thanks!

    Hi Lori ~

I am a HUGE fan of Disney tours and Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour is one of my favorites!

Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour is wheelchair or ECV accessible. There have always been 2 attractions we boarded when I've done this tour (The Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean or The Jungle Cruise and the Haunted Mansion). Keep in mind these can change. As long as she can transfer and walk short distances, she should be fine on the tour.

There are elevators that Guests in wheelchairs or ECVs can take to access the Utilidors. Lunch is at the Columbia Harbour House. We have always dined upstairs in a reserved area. There is a small elevator she can take if she is unable to navigate the steps to the second floor. If she is more comfortable downstairs, I am sure they could make arrangements for her to dine on the first floor as well. Just mention it to your Guide when you first meet and place your lunch order that morning before setting out on the tour.

Guests must provide their own wheelchairs or ECVs as they are not provided as part of the tour. If she needs a wheelchair or ECV, you will need to rent one in the Magic Kingdom before reporting for your tour. There are several private companies in Orlando that provide wheelchair rentals for Guests at Disney. These companies will deliver the wheelchairs to your resort so that they are there when you arrive and pick them up at the end of your trip. The link above provides the names of some private companies but you are welcome to rent from other companies in the area as well.
