We are looking to join the dvc, for a family of 4 what are the benefits of it vs just booking a vaca?

    Hi Dave,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. My family has been members of Disney Vacation Club for over a decade. I am happy to share with you the benefits that we find in our membership.

For us, knowing that we are members of Disney Vacation Club ensures that we will vacation year after year. Having an annual allotment of Vacation Points is a good way to be sure that in this busy day and age, we take the time out to vacation. Currently, we use our Vacation Points nearly exclusively at Walt Disney World. As our daughter gets older, we are excited about the possibilities of using the World and Concierge Collections to explore many locations across the globe.

The annual allotment of Vacation Points is a great way to offer flexibility in vacations. The number of Vacation Points needed for a particular accommodation varies based on resort, size, and time of year. You can use your Vacation Points differently each year! I have used mine to book a deluxe studio for a girls weekend, and a two-bedroom villa for a week-long vacation with the grandparents!

We absolutely love the accommodations at the Disney Vacation Club resorts. My family tends to stay in a one-bedroom villa. For us, the convenience of the full kitchen, as well as a washer and dryer right inside of our villa, makes this feel like home. We enjoy relaxing in our villa, and at the beautifully themed Disney Vacation Club resorts, as much as heading into theme parks. Both are an important part of our vacation!

I suggest that you take a look at the Disney Vacation Club website to explore the possibilities of membership further, Dave. Be sure especially to take a look under the "Explore Membership" tab. If you do decide to become a member, it will be truly magical the first time you hear the familiar Disney Vacation Club greeting, "Welcome Home."
