Hi Robert,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My family recently attended the
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party, and it’s my pleasure to share my thoughts on the experience and value.
The dessert selection is great, from themed cupcakes (I loved the peanut butter Darth Vader one), cookies, and bread pudding to the fan-favorite freeze dried ice cream. There’s a decent savory platter too, including adorable fruit and cheese light sabers, and the drink selection includes cocktails for Guests aged 21 and older. We liked that we could have a dessert or two, then wander through the
Star Wars Launch Bay, and then come back for more. On the night we attended, we met Kylo Ren twice (my son is fully prepared to go to the Dark Side upon invitation), BB-8, and Chewbacca (who gives the best hugs).
When it’s time for the show to start, you will be escorted outside to the VIP viewing area, which is front and center and provides a great, panoramic view of the projections – you are so close that you can feel the heat from the fire effects, and you really feel like you've stepped inside some of the more magical moments in the show. Cast Members hand out bottled water, which is a great touch.
Robert, ultimately my husband and I felt that the Dessert Party was a really fun and worthwhile splurge. We made some great memories with the characters, ate our weight in
Star Wars-themed goodies, and enjoyed two incredible shows. As with so many experiences at Disney, it’s hard to put a price tag on the magic. While the true cost of the desserts might not equal the admission price, I like to put on my Han Solo half-smile and say, “never tell me the odds” (or the price).
Wishing you a magical vacation – and may the Force be with you,
Robyn
