I am looking for as much info. as possible on PO/Riverside. We are annual travelers and love to be as close as possible to foodct, buses, etc I like the idea of queen beds & a trundle (kids: 12, 7 & infant) but am concerned about distance to foodco

    Hi Shannon!

Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite moderate resort and I HIGHLY recommend it!  Now that you have joined our ranks as a Mamma to three kids, your room choices become a little more limited.  Although, since your baby can still sleep in a crib, you are still welcome to stay in any room, as they will accommodate four guests plus an infant.  However, if you are looking for a room that sleeps 5 guest comfortably, the Alligator Bayou rooms at Port Orleans Riverside are a fantastic choice!

All of the rooms in the Alligator Bayou section are being refurbished, with the last ones due to be completed by June 22, 2012.  These new rooms will all have two Queen beds (Aaaahhhh) as well as a flip down bed.  The flip down bed is larger than the trundle that was originally in the room and features a super cute Princess and the Frog detail!

If you want the PERFECT location, I would spend a little more and get a preferred room.  My favorite building is Building 14 and I would be sure to request it.  It is literally next door to all of the action and it is the closest building in the entire resort.  Disney won't guarantee your Building choice, but the other Preferred buildings (15, 18 and 27) are all pretty close to the food court and main bus stop. If you don't want to upgrade to a Preferred room, the best standard rooms are in Building 16.  If you see that you are in Buildings 34-39, I would politely offer to wait for another room.  You may have to wait until a room is cleaned, but those rooms are so remote that a trip to the food court becomes a journey in itself!

I hope that this info helps and I would love to hear from ya again!

    Much pixie dust,
