Hi! Looking for some more info. Looking into booking Wilderness Lodge for Feb 2023. I was wondering if I called to make the room only reservation, as 2023 packages are not out yet, what payment is due at time of booking room only reservation? Thank you!

Hey there, Julia! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy that you've stopped by with your vacation planning question. Chatting about Disney Resorts is my favorite!

Julia, it sounds as if your magical vacation planning is off to a fantastic start! Disney's Wilderness Lodge was where my family and I stayed on our first trip together with just the three of us, and it is so special to me and one of my favorite Disney Resorts Collection Hotels. From the moment you arrive, you are transported right to the Pacific Northwest, and with its amazing pools, endless recreation offerings and Resort activities, some of my favorite dining options in all of Walt Disney World Resort, and location within a short, scenic boat ride to Magic Kingdom Park, this Resort is the perfect peaceful escape right in the middle of the magic. I am thrilled to answer your question and help you plan your pixie-dusted vacation at this incredible Resort!

When you call to book your room-only stay at any Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you pay a deposit of one night's room rate for that Resort, plus tax. This deposit will apply to the total cost of your vacation and is refundable as long as you cancel your room-only reservation at least five days before your arrival. Once the 2023 vacation packages become available (Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the official news as soon as it drops!), just call Disney Resort Hotel Reservations at (407) 939-1936 to convert your reservation to a vacation package. Just be aware that the final payment of vacation packages is due 30 days before your arrival, and that is also the last day to cancel with a full refund. I think that your plan to book a room-only stay now and then convert to a package when possible is the perfect plan to snag the Resort of your dreams! A dream is a wish your heart makes.

For me, half the fun of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is the food, and I must recommend a couple of restaurants right at your Resort! My favorite is Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. The food and drinks here are incredible, and the character interaction with Snow White, Grumpy, Dopey and the Queen can't be beaten. Do NOT make the same mistake I did by calling her the Evil Queen. Yikes! She did not like that! Make your Advanced Dining Reservation for this dining experience 60 days before your arrival. While enjoying your Resort, don't miss dining at Geyser Point Bar & Grill! This is one of my favorite spots in Walt Disney World Resort, and the views are as fantastic as the food. I suggest the Bison Cheeseburger ... Is it dramatic to say that this thing is life-changing?! YUM!

Julia, happy planning, my friend! I hope this was helpful, and I hope you stop by any time with any vacation planning questions you may have. You've got a friend in planDisney!

I hope to see ya real soon,

    Mandy
