I was looking for info. on the GF pirate adventure and read that adults are not allowed to take part in the adventure? Is this true? I thought it would be something that my husband and son could do together? Thanks!

This is a Kids Only event that sets sail from the Grand Floridian. My son just participated on his second pirate voyage a few weeks ago.

Part of the adventure includes the kids being able to wave good-bye to the parents left on shore and singing "A Pirate's Life for me" as they sail away. Two hours later, they return with the treasure and a boatload of smiles!

Children must be checked in to the Captain's Shipyard by 9:15 a.m. and must wear sneakers. Kids receive pirate bandannas complete with Mickey ears (to keep!), along with a life vest. Before boarding, children are paired up with a buddy and given safety instructions. Parents - you will need your receipt in order to have your child returned to you!

Disney's Pirate Adventure is very popular and reservations are required. Children must be ages 4-12 and must be potty trained. While sailing the waters of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake, the pirates will visit exotic ports, find a treasure chest, enjoy lunch and get a goody bag before disembarking. As a parent, I am very impressed with the organization of this Grand Adventure, as well as with the enthusiasm of the Cast Members.

The Pirate Adventure sets sail Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Upon their return to port, you will hear the rowdy pirates before you can see them! Call 407-WDW-PLAY to make a reservation. I made my reservation at 407-WDW-DINE when calling for all of my Advance Dining Reservations so this is also an option!
