Hi Debbie!
What lucky granddaughters!!! Giving each of them some of their very own spending money is a great way to teach them a little fiscal responsibility. I've always found that when I give my boys a set amount to spend, they are a lot pickier when it comes to searching for that perfect souvenir. When they have their own money, they are more aware of the cost of each item and do a lot of shopping around, rather than just grabbing the first thing that they see.
We are big fans of
Disney Dollars! When you arrive at Walt Disney World, you may purchase adorable Disney Dollars, complete with pictures of Mickey and the gang. They are available in a variety of denominations and most kids enjoy looking at them as much as they enjoy spending them! Of course, they are just as easy to lose as cash, so I'm not sure if that is the best answer for you.
If you purchase a pocket lanyard, you can always tuck a
Disney Gift Card inside. While they do not require pin codes to use, there is a safety net. If their card is lost or stolen, you need to call 1-877-650-4327 to report that the card is lost. They will then freeze the funds left on the card and transfer the balance onto a new gift card. It is important to call AS SOON as you notice that the card is gone!
Have a wonderful vacation and keep those questions coming!
Much pixie dust,
Jackie S.
