Hi Todd,
Welcome to planDisney!
Let me start by sending hope for good health to your friend. It sounds like she is on a tough journey and could use a little magic. With 10 guests, I would suggest a three-bedroom villa. We have a few
resort hotels that have villas or suites. Consider the Three Bedroom Grand Villas at Disney's Riviera Resort, BoardWalk Villas, Old Key West, or Saratoga Springs Resort. Also consider The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
If you are looking for accommodations that are a little more budget friendly, also take a look at the family suites at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. You could reserve two family suites and request that they be in close proximity to each other. As you price your vacation package, review the transportation and dining options at each resort hotel. My family prefers resort hotels with access to
Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation, the
Disney Skyliner, and/or with a walking path to one or more theme parks.
Looking at your arrival date, I highly recommend that you book that resort hotel and theme park tickets as soon as possible. Every Guest in your party will need
Disney Park Pass system reservations and those are limited. Review the
theme park reservation availability calendar before booking your vacation package. I would not want you to buy theme park tickets and then there is not park pass availability.
Given the size of your party, you may need to
contact a Cast Member by phone. If you do not have a My Disney Experience account, create one. Once you have your vacation package booked, link it in My Disney Experience and then make those park pass reservations immediately!
Todd, we took our last trip after one of our girls had a lengthy illness. It was truly a special experience. I am sending so many wishes to the Evening Star for your friend's recovery!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
