We are looking into heading to WDW for the very first time with my family. My question is, am I able to get the promotions that are going on (ending March 7th) for the dining package if I book the hotel separately (through hotels.com)?

Hi Christine! Just landed back in "our" state from vacation in Walt Disney World!

To get the Free Dining specials you would need to book the package through Walt Disney. I always tell guests to look carefully at the Free Dining as sometimes it isn't the best option for you. In fact I overheard one guest today at check-out that they had 8 table service credits that they didn't use! He said he and his wife ate more then they needed and still came out with so many left.  If you are able to get a good rate for a Disney resort you might be better off not doing the dining package on this trip. There are so many great spots to eat whether it be quick service or table service. Perhaps since it is your first trip you will want to book more then one character dining experience which takes two credits per person when on the plan. Your credits disappear quickly!
