I am looking 4 a good sit down rest. in Hollywood Studio. to eat dinner,I ruled out brown derby (don't like menu select.)& 50's prime,(already ate there) is there anything else? thought of sci fi, or hollywood & vine, what do you recommend. thanks T

    Teresa:

I personally love Sci-Fi Dinner Theatre, and we plan on going again on our next visit in October.  (My husband LOVES their reuben sandwich.)  However, if you're going on the Dining Plan, I don't think it's a good value.  It's a sandwich/salad restaurant and you're using your credit more for the atmosphere and movies than for the food.   If you're on the dining plan and want to eat heartily, Hollywood & Vine would be fine, just keep in mind that there is no Character Dining at dinner and the atmosphere doesn't have the theming that 50's Prime Time or Sci Fi offers.

If Hollywood Brown Derby's menu doesn't fit the bill, consider Mama Melrose's as its menu appeals more to the masses.  If your family likes Italian, I'd recommend it over Hollywood & Vine.  It's not as loud, and I prefer how special the non-buffet table service restaurants make you feel!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
