Looking to go to Disney in August for a group of 10

Welcome to planDisney, Bonita! Thanks so much for sending me your question. I'm happy to help you plan a vacation to The Happiest Place on Earth!

I always say the more, the merrier! I planned a vacation to Disneyland Resort for our extended, multi-generational family of 14 and we had so much fun! First, let's talk about the most important things to know. Theme Park Reservations can be made up to 120 days or more in advance, subject to availability. Your date is coming up soon to make the theme park reservations and given the size of our group, I would suggest making these as soon as possible. It is important to check for Theme Park Reservation Availability as soon as your 120-day window opens and purchase your theme park tickets. Once you have your theme park tickets and reservations, you will be all set to visit the parks!

Next, I would focus on hotel accommodations. There are three Disneyland Resort Hotels to choose from as well as quite a few Good Neighbor Hotels. Several of these hotels are within a short walking distance if you aren't bringing or renting a vehicle. Whether you opt for family suites or multiple hotel rooms, many choices can accommodate your family. One tip I have is to consider how many adults and kids are in your group. I tend to prefer multiple hotel rooms when we travel with extended family so there are more bathrooms and an opportunity for some time apart at the end of the day.

My favorite part of planning a Disney vacation is making advanced dining reservations! This is a nice way to start or end a day or even a great way to take a midday break. With a group of 10, it can be harder to walk up to a restaurant and get a last-minute reservation so making these plans in advance is important. If you are looking for a great character experience and a fun way to start the day at Disneyland Park, I highly recommend Minnie & Friends - Breakfast in the Park at Plaza Inn. At Disney California Adventure Park, my favorite spot to grab great food and drinks is Lamplight Lounge at Pixar Pier! This restaurant has magical waterside views and fun Pixar movie-theming!

As you are planning, there's some entertainment that's not-to-be-missed! World of Color is my favorite nighttime show at Disney California Adventure Park and Fantasmic! is absolutely amazing at Disneyland Park!

Bonita, I hope this information helps you get started! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to visit me again at planDisney! I'm always happy to help!

    Happy Planning!
