Looking to go to Disney April of 2014. With 2 other families ( 6 adults/2 boys 11yrs). Perfer a Moderate hotel because the beds are bigger, but would consider a value price pending. Suggestions ? Also, when should we start planning?

    Hi Kelly!

In my opinion you can never start planning a Walt Disney World vacation too early!I would recommend to start planning your stay and dining reservations if you plan to try any of Disney's table-service meals. Many dining locations, especially character meals, will book well in advance and as a Disney Resort guest you can book your reservations for your entire vacation at 180 days from your date of check-in.

Deciding on which resort is right for you can be a hard decision especially with so many great options.Disney's moderate resorts have wonderful themeing, plus the queen size beds and double sinks are definitely a bonus.Disney's Value resorts also have lots of amenities that make for a magical stay. Many guests spend very little time at the resort, keeping that in mind I would decide if the extra cost is actually worth the bigger bed.

Disney's Art of Animation and Pop Century resort are my favorites in the value resort category. Both of these resorts are themed very well and the pools are spectacular. Each pool has a theme that pertains to that particular section of the resort and both have quick-service locations that serve some very yummy meals.

If having a bigger bed is a big deciding factor for your vacation, then you may want to take a look at Disney's Moderate Resorts. Each resort is very well themed and I have a hard time choosing a favorite. The only draw back is that each resort only has one pool that is actually themed, there are other pools at each resort just none of them will have themeing. These resorts are very spread out requiring an internal bus system that will make several stops before reaching your destination.

If you plan to spend a lot of time in the parks, I would save your money and consider Disney's Value Resorts, which offer a lot of Disney magic at very affordable price.

I hope this helps, Kelly and please visit us again if you have anymore questions.

    Happy Planning!
