Hi there, Shawna!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you found us while resEARching a Disney Cruise Line vacation for your group! While so exciting and so much fun, I know planning a vacation can be overwhelming, so hopefully I can help!
First off, one of the best things about a Disney Cruise Line vacation (and I guarantee you there are A LOT of great things) is that so much is
included with your reservation! When you book a Disney Cruise Line vacation, your stateroom, food, sodas, entertainment and onboard activities are already included! Additional extras that you will incur with include gratuities for your stateroom host or hostess and your dining room servers,
Port Adventures, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeovers, and any other onboard purchases such as bar service, photo packages or souvenirs! But, really, so much is already included that you could get onboard and still have an amazing time without all of the “extras”!
When planning for a travel party of your size, my recommendation would be to book two staterooms. The only staterooms onboard that can accommodate a group of six would be one of the suites, which are rather pricey – and limited, so they are harder to reserve. So, booking two connecting or adjacent staterooms would be what I would suggest.
Inside staterooms are typically less expensive than others, but we find that we are in our stateroom so seldom that having an interior stateroom is not a bad idea when looking to save a little! You can also look for a “Guaranteed Rate” which means that you do not get to specifically choose your stateroom, but instead you select a category of staterooms and then your room is assigned to you at a later date. So, for example, you could select a “Guaranteed Inside Stateroom” rate and you will be guaranteed to have an inside stateroom that will be assigned to you when your voyage gets closer. Often these are discounted because you are not selecting your stateroom, and these rates are not available on all voyages. If you are not working with a travel agent, then you can contact Disney Cruise Line directly at (800) 951-3532 and a Cast Member will be more than happy to explain the best options for your group!
Once you get your voyage booked, please come back with all your planning questions! Have fun planning!
