Hey there, Sean! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with such a great question!
I couldn't be more excited to see that the magic is calling you, and you're answering the call by planning a magical adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth
and becoming a
Walt Disney World Annual Passholder! The magic called me to become a Passholder, too, and I have not regretted one single magical moment. Knowing that I can just make Theme Park Reservations and head to my happy place on a whim time and time again brings such joy to my life. I'm so happy for you to experience this same pixie-dusted joy, Sean. Now, let's get this planning party started!
If you already have theme park tickets but plan to purchase a
Walt Disney World Annual Pass before your vacation, you can absolutely choose to use your tickets instead of activating and using your Annual Pass if you wish. To do this, I recommend
calling a Cast Member with Existing Tickets or stopping by any
Guest Relations location on your vacation to let them know you would like to prioritize and use your tickets instead of activating your Annual Pass.
Then, after you tap into your first theme park, I recommend double-checking on your My Disney Experience app that a day has been used from your multi-day theme park ticket and your Annual Pass was not activated. To do this, log into your app, tap the three-line menu icon at the bottom of the screen and then tap the "Tickets and Passes" tile. Find your tickets, make sure that a day has been used from your multi-day ticket, and you should be all set!
Did you know that you may be able to upgrade your current theme park tickets to an Annual Pass by just paying the difference in price by either calling Existing Tickets or stopping by Guest Relations on your vacation?! If you decide to
upgrade your multi-day ticket to an Annual Pass while on your vacation, just be sure to do so before using the last day of your ticket. In this case, your Annual Pass will expire one year from the first day the multi-day ticket was used.
One more thing, Sean! If you choose to use your current theme park tickets and wait to activate your Annual Pass, just keep in mind that you must activate it within one year of purchase, and once you activate it and enter a theme park, your Pass will expire one year from that first use. Welcome to the Passholder family!
I hope this helps, Sean, and I'm wishing you a year of fun and magical memories! Please stop by any time with any questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!
Adventure is out there!
