Welcome to planDisney! It is such a magical time to visit Walt Disney World Resort and become an Annual Passholder. I’ve been a Passholder for the last three years, and it has allowed me to experience my favorite place in the world in a brand new way. It has also significantly increased the amount of Disney merchandise I have around the house (that shopping
discount is dangerous in the wrong hands).
At present, new sales of certain Annual Passes are paused. While Walt Disney World has not released a specific rationale for why this is the case or when sales will resume, the change will not be permanent. If you are interested in a different Annual Pass than is currently offered, you have two options for proceeding.
1. You can keep an eye out on
Disney Parks Blog (your destination for all Walt Disney World updates, re-openings, and happenings at the Theme Parks) and wait until all new Annual Pass sales resume to purchase the Annual Pass of your dreams.
2. You can go ahead and purchase a Disney Pixie Dust Pass and then upgrade to a different tier of
Annual Pass. This option will allow you to take advantage of the perks of being a Passholder upon activation of your pass.
Note: If you purchase the Disney Pixie Dust Pass and don’t use a single day, you can upgrade to a different tier by speaking to a Cast Member on the V.I.Passholder line at (407)-560-7277.
If the Annual Pass you are interested in is not an option for upgrade at this point, still go ahead and purchase the Disney Pixie Dust. Once the Annual Pass you are interested in becomes available, you will just need to go in person to Guest Services to initiate the upgrade since you have started using it (and hopefully are loving it).
