We are looking forward to a trip in June. As the parking trams aren’t currently available, is taking Disney transportation a more efficient way to get to the parks vs driving/walking? Magic express vs renting a car-which is more time efficient

    Welcome to planDisney, Judy!

Oh, Judy, I love to be one of the first people in the theme parks in the morning, so figuring out the most efficient way to get there is a question that I struggle with myself, and I still haven't come up with the perfect answer!

In terms of time spent, driving yourself is going to be the quickest way. While busses do run every 20-minutes, you will still need to wait on one, or sometimes more than one, getting to the parks in the morning and back at the end of the day. When you drive, you may leave whenever you wish, no waiting required. I have found that as long as you arrive early in the morning, the walk from the parking lot to the front of the parks should take less than 10 minutes. If you are arriving later, you can spring for preferred parking, which is even faster than walking to the tram!

Now, if you are a member of the "rope-drop" crowd like I am, and want to get there first, I can let you in on a little secret. While driving yourself may be the most efficient way to get to the parks in terms of travel time, Disney transportation has recently begun operating a little before the parking lots open for the day! So if you are an early riser, you may want to stick with the bus. Keep in mind this is only my personal experience and I am sure is subject to change.

Again, in terms of Disney's Magical Express, renting a car may be the quickest way, but is a much less magical experience. I do not mind the slightly longer ride time at all since I can sit back, relax, and enjoy some Disney classics.

I hope that this gave you a bit of insight, Judy! Please come back here if we can help you decide where to play, stay, or dine at Walt Disney World Resort!

    See you real soon!
