We are looking forward to our trip back to WDW December 8-15, 2012, with the grandparents. I'm looking for a map of the Port Orleans - Riverside that shows where accessible rooms are located. Also, which rooms are "Preferred" at POR?

    Hi Matthew!

You are visiting Walt Disney World during my most favorite time of the year!  The holiday season at Walt Disney World is truly spectacular.  You're in for a real treat.

Preferred rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort are located in the Alligator Bayou lodges 14, 15, 18 and 27.   There are no preferred rooms in the Mansions area.

I was unable to find a map pinpointing the location of the accessible rooms, but there are several ground-floor accessible rooms around the resort.  These rooms typically feature a king-sized bed instead of two queens or doubles.  If you need an accessible room, make sure you notate it on your reservation.

There is a great unofficial site called Port Orleans.org that has fantastic, in-depth information about Disney's Port Orleans Resort.  I used it extensively when planning my trip to Port Orleans-Riverside.

Please let me know if you have any other questions about POR or visiting Walt Disney World during the holidays!  I'd love to help you plan all of your magical vacation details!
