Kaltxi, Nicholas! That is how the Na’vi say hello, and I’d like to warmly welcome you to planDisney and thank you for this question.
Pandora – The World of Avatar is breathtakingly beautiful, especially at night. I love to wander the land and take in all the details, from the otherworldly plant life to the floating mountains to the wonderful Na’vi artifacts. I cry every time I ride Avatar Flight of Passage because it’s just an incredible experience.
Connecting with an avatar to ride a banshee in
Avatar Flight of Passage is so cool, and being able to go one step further and see what you would look like as an avatar takes that immersive experience to another level. Being able to take home an action figure of yourself - and even add accessories and clothes - means you get an experience and a souvenir. So fun!
I checked with a Cast Member, who confirmed that the
make your own avatar experience at Windtraders is currently paused as part of the Walt Disney World Resort’s phased reopening. Because the experience requires facial scanning, and face coverings are required for health and safety reasons, it cannot currently be safely operated. They don’t yet have a reopening date for the experience; I recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog as you get closer to your visit. You can also check with a Cast Member in
Windtraders during your visit for the most up-to-date information.
I hope you enjoy your visit to Pandora – The World of Avatar, Nicholas! I highly recommend taking your time as you explore the land, and be sure to stop at
Satu’li Canteen for a delicious meal. You really can’t go wrong with the menu, but my “don’t miss” items are the Cheeseburger Steamed Pods and the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse, which is served with a tart and refreshing passionfruit curd. Drool!
Thanks for stopping by, and please don’t hesitate to come back and see us should you have any more questions as you count down the days to your Walt Disney World Resort visit.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
