Hi, we are looking forward for our first trip to Disney World soon with our 2 kids. We were wondering, since we have reserve a dinner at Boma in Animal Kingdom Lodge, will we able to go swim at the pool of this hotel even if we are staying at an other hote

Hey there Frederic and welcome to planDisney!

I'm so excited to help your family prepare for your first-ever trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! Make sure you all get your First Visit buttons from a Cast Member at the Front Desk of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel or at Guest Services at your first Disney Park. Let's make some magic!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge quickly became one of my favorite Disney Resorts Collection hotels after my visit this past December. Of course, I adored seeing all of the animals but one of the best parts was the food! Boma-Flavors of Africa is such a great spot, especially when dining with littles. You've got flavors the whole family can enjoy. Unfortunately, use of the pools at Disney Resorts Collection hotels is reserved for Guests staying at each particular hotel. But don't worry! Every hotel has its own pool...or 5! No matter which hotel you're staying at, there's sure to be a great place to get in that after-dinner swim.

Now here are a few first visit tips from your Fairy Godmother, Taylor:

    1. Don't feel like you have to do everything. It's impossible to cover everything in one trip. You'll only frustrate and wear yourself trying. Do as much as you have time for and then do what I do. Plan the next trip.

    2. Wear comfortable shoes. Blisters are decidedly unmagical.

    3. Hydrate! Florida in June can be a different kind of hot and humid. You can ask for free cups of water at Quick-Service Locations around the theme parks. These have saved me on many a summer day.

    4. Get creative! If the lines are feeling a bit long there are plenty of ways to pass the time. My family has developed a tradition of playing games during long waits. You can catch us playing I Spy and someone always has Heads Up downloaded on their phone. And if all else fails, having Disney+ downloaded sure doesn't hurt.

    5. Pack your patience and have fun! These will be core memories for your children. Be as present and in the moment with them as you can!

Frederic, have the best time on your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. If you have any more questions before you go, come back for another chat. I've got your back!

    Happy planning!
