Hi Andrea!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Can you believe your Disney Cruise Line adventure is just around the corner?!?! Whether or not you’ve had this vacation planned for a year or just a few months, once the 30-day mark hits, it’s probably all you can think about! At least that’s how it goes at my house!
Castaway Cay is one of my favorite stops when cruising with Captain Mickey and I am sure you will agree once you visit! Crystal-blue water, soft beaches, character dance parties and the best chocolate chip cookies at Cookies BBQ await you! And, let’s not forget the Castaway Cay 5K, which is also one of my favorite events! Registration for the Castaway Cay 5K is done at Guest Services once you are onboard and is open to participants ten years and older. On race day, you will meet onboard and walk as a group to the starting point. Upon completion of the 5K, all finishers get a finishers medal which is a great souvenir to take home with you. I do recommend that if you aren’t used to running (or walking) in the Bahamian humidity that you plan to hydrate before, during and after! There are water stations throughout the course, so take advantage of those mid-run! Then, once your run (or walk) is complete, stake out a spot on the beach and enjoy your day at Castaway Cay!
Please note, that if you do have little Mouseketeers in your group that aren’t old enough to participate, Scuttle’s Cove, Castaway Cay’s Youth Club will be open for you to check your littles into while you participate. Those under three can be checked into the onboard nursery but be sure to reserve your spot in there ahead of time!
Wishing you a magical and memorable adventure at sea!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
