Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Johannes!
Your first Disney Cruise is coming up and I am so excited for you and your family. Coming in from so far away, I'm sure you have a lot of packing and planning to do. You'll want to make the most out of your trip and you've got to think about your little one and keeping eyes wide awake throughout all the activities and events. The time difference may or may not throw kids off. My kids and I have been traveling internationally since they were almost 2 years old, and I've seen them adjust quite quickly each and every time. When we traveled to cruise the Mediterranean and the North Baltic, we too were faced with the 8+ hour time difference. I always pick the 2nd seating for our dining rotation. It really is very easy to grab a mid to late afternoon snack when you are onboard. You've got the
complimentary 24-hour room service available and it's a quick phone call away just in case you get the munchies. Around the ship, quick service meals are also easily accessible... it usually does the trick to get your through the evening show at the
Walt Disney Theater. By the time 8:15pm rolls around, you will be very ready to eat to your heart's content at one of the beautiful dining rooms.
I've found it very helpful to plan at least a 1 or 2-night pre-cruise stay to help everyone get adjusted to the time difference. Get a lot of sun early in the morning and during the day, to help your mind & body adjust.
With all the excitement going on at the Youth Clubs, your little cruiser will want to get their early - that will also help with getting adjusted to the time difference. I hope this helps.
Bon voyage, Johannes!
