Hiya Gail! Welcome back to planDisney!
The
Wilderness Explorers' experience at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is a fun activity that your little ones with have a blast with. They'll also learn a ton along the way from Cast Members stationed at each location. We found all of them to be extremely knowledgeable in their area of expertise, which created an interactive learning experience as we ventured around the park.
Based on the information I was able to gather from various Cast Members, it seems like this activity will not be affected all that much by the partial closure of Dinoland U.S.A. Most of the Wilderness badges that are part of this self-guided adventure are located in parts of Dinoland U.S.A. that are still open. There may be one station that was located inside Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama that is no longer available, but I would check with a Cast Member once you arrive onsite to see if this location was relocated since the closure.
If you haven't participated in this experience yet, you are in for a treat. The first time my daughters wanted to try it out, we were not expecting how much fun we would have. They learned so much at each stop and the Cast Members were all fantastic. Our favorite stops were along the
Maharajah Jungle Trek and finding fossils in the Boneyard.
Gail, along your journey through the park, I suggest stopping by
Creature Comforts for a Mickey Colossal Cinnamon Roll. This is the perfect sweet snack to enjoy at any point of the day.
Have a magical time during your stay! See ya real soon!
