Ahoy, Polly and welcome to planDisney where we are happier than pirates evading capture to help steer guests in the right direction!
Polly, how exciting that you're planning your
first Disney Cruise Line vacation! I feel confident that you will fall in love with whichever ship you choose as soon as your feet hit the gangway. Now, let's talk about accommodations to fit your family.
First, it's important to know that Oceanview Staterooms with Verandahs on both the
Disney Dream and
Disney Wish only accommodate up to four guests, so you will need to add a second stateroom with five adult children. Now, Polly, this fall, my family is setting sail on the Disney Dream and we are taking my father-in-law on his first-ever Disney Cruise! With a total of five in our traveling party, we knew we couldn't accommodate everyone in one room, so we had some decisions to make. Ultimately, we looked at a few options, but in order to keep our budget in check, opted to book one Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah and one Standard Inside Stateroom located right across the hall. This was the best option for my family, but I would encourage you to check out the deck plans of both the
Disney Dream and
Disney Wish as you're making decisions.
Polly, I hope this helps as you are looking ahead to your first sailing with Captain Mickey (or Minnie)! Please come on back to planDisney with any other questions you might have.
Wishing you fair winds & following seas.
Lauren
