I am looking to find the least crowded days through out the year at all the parks in Orlando

Hi Linda! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

It sounds like you’re planning ahead beyond your late February trip, and trying to determine which times of the year usually yield the lowest crowds at Walt Disney World. I definitely understand wanting to make plans based on crowds, as 2020 is a very busy year, with so much new and exciting going on at the Disney Parks!

While the honest answer is that it is really hard to predict crowds accurately, as they fluctuate due to reasons that are sometimes not fully known, I have some tips regarding picking the best time for your visit that I’d like to share with you.

First, generally speaking, you can expect lower crowds during times when school is typically in session. Second, consider using a free online crowd calendar, of which there are many, in order to see trends from prior years, and anticipated trends for future years. These calendars often indicate late February and most of September as great months to visit, and these coincidentally are often months that schools are in session in the United States, plus these are dates that are far enough away from major breaks and holidays. On a related note, if you are concerned about crowds, avoiding major holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve, etc.) is generally a good idea, since these are often very popular times to visit.

When you do visit, I always recommend that if you have crowd concerns, you try to enter the Theme Park you plan to visit at rope drop/right when the Park opens. In general, crowds are lightest in the first few hours of the day. I also recommend perhaps taking a break in the middle of the day and returning to the Park to stay until close, as crowds do tend to thin out later into the night. It is also a great idea to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours if staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, in order to make the most of your time! Check out the Park Hours for each day of your visit in order to best prepare. These are also easily accessed via the My Disney Experience Mobile App. Also, do not forget to make FastPass+ selections in advance, and take advantage of being able to make additional selections on the go right from the App after you enjoy your first three!

Linda, thank you for stopping by with your question, and I wish you many magical visits to the Most Magical Place on Earth in the future! Please do not hesitate to stop by to see us again any time we can help you with your planning.

    See ya real soon!
