We are looking into excursions! We want to do the stingray excursion at Castaway Cay and u need to be 5 yrs old, but my son is 4 1/2.. How strict are they with the age limits. would they let him do the excursion?

When I was last aboard the Disney Magic, I spoke to the Shore Excursion staff . Frequently guests ask about age limits for excursions offered by the Disney Cruise Line.

I was told then (and just re-confirmed with DCL) that age limits are in place for the safety and enjoyment of all passengers. These age restrictions can not be altered. I know that missing the stingrays is disappointing. I might recommend that one adult stay on the beach with your child while the adults take turns going in the water. It’s quite informal and in fact many adults and kids do not last long in the water due to the sometimes cold temperatures.

Also, I have found that a day at Castaway Cay is full of wonder and magic. In fact, when my son was younger, we couldn’t get him away from the beach or Scuttle’s Cove where he had fun playing with his peers.

Your family might want to take a bike ride or attend character greetings. Ahoy there be pirates lurking on Castaway Cay!
