Ahoy Lianne!
We are so happy to have you back onboard here at planDisney. Are you looking forward to stepping on the ship and hearing “Welcome Aboard”? I’m probably going to tear up, and I know I’m not alone in feeling that way!
I love how you have already scoped out the category of stateroom that you really want. Talk about great planning! The Category 8A
Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms on the Disney Dream are unique in that some of them have an actual wall between the two sleeping areas. According to the
Disney Dream Deck Plans, there are only approximately 12 of these kind of staterooms, and they differ a bit in their configuration and in the number of Guests they can accommodate. So I would say the answer to your question is that it depends. Some of these staterooms can sleep up to 3 Guests and others accommodate 4 with that upper berth bunk above the single sleeper sofa.
Fortunately, once you enter the number of Guests on the Disney Cruise Line website, it will only show you staterooms that will accommodate your travel party. So if you have 4 Guests, then only staterooms that can sleep 4 will be bookable. The other way to check specifics about a particular stateroom is by calling Disney Cruise Line. So if you still aren’t finding a stateroom that can fit your family, a
Disney Cruise Line Vacation Planning Specialist would be happy to help with your stateroom reservation.
So Lianne, I would say that you call Disney Cruise Line and select the exact stateroom that suits your family. Hopefully the one you want will be available for your desired itinerary. Plot a course back to planDisney if you need any more pointers and if we can chat all about the
Disney Dream again!
Happy Sailing!
