Ahoy, Kimberley!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you're getting ready to set sail on a voyage to paradise! Having a son of my own with special developmental and medical needs, I understand the importance of planning ahead when it comes time for vacation. I'm so excited that you're planning an unforgettable excursion with your daughter! I'm very passionate about kids of all abilities experiencing as much as possible while traveling with their families!
The
Tortola - Dolphin Encounter sounds like it would be an unforgettable experience for both you and your daughter. She'll be able to pet a dolphin and even get a smooch! I'm not sure how old your daughter is, but my first piece of advice is to participate in this excursion with her. You will be able to help guide her down the stairs and stand next to her on the platform that is waist-deep in the water. I also recommend explaining a little bit about your daughter's communication and balance challenges to the Port Adventure Guide. Finally, before booking this exciting excursion, read carefully through the "Know Before You Go" section, under the Port Adventure description, to make sure everyone who is planning to participate is able to!
Kimberley, I've had such wonderful experiences while sailing with my son aboard
Disney Cruise Line. The Cast and Crew always do their very best to accommodate his needs, creating a smooth-sailing and amazing voyage for my entire family! I can't wait for your daughter to get the chance to touch and see a dolphin up close!
Please swim back and visit us again with any future questions!
