We are looking for a Disney Resort with a sand beach and how is the weather in Orlando in December? Thank you very much!

Hello, Sonia! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel."What would I pay to spend a day warm on the sand?" Just like Ariel, I too would rather be on a warm beach, especially in December! One of my favorite things to do is to watch the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular from the white sand beaches of the Resorts on the Magic Kingdom monorail loop. While many of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels have white sand beaches, here are my two favorite Resort beaches to put my toes in the sand:

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has a nice beach that offers a great view of the fireworks as well as the Electrical Water Pageant that floats by. Grab a nice tropical drink from the Barefoot Pool Bar and relax on one of the beach chairs to kick off your vacation right.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is another great spot to unwind and and watch the evening entertainment from across the lake. You can order drinks and dessert from the Beaches Pool Bar & Grill and find a spot to relax from a long day of park touring. If you like raspberry flavors like I do, I highly suggest the Pina Colava drink.

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's Coronado Springs Resort are a few of the other Resort Hotels with sand beaches.

The December weather in Florida is relatively mild. The highs are in the 70's and the lows in the 50's with slight variations. In my experience its always great to be prepared for anything. During my trip last December I packed a light jacket for the evening hours. It got surprising cold after dark, and especially after I got soaked on Splash Mountain. During the day it can get pretty warm in the sun, so I suggest wearing layers and taking them off and adding them when needed.

If you need anything else Sonia, please let us know! Have a magical Walt Disney World vacation!
