Hi Misty,
Such a fun age to be taking your children to Walt Disney World! On one of my recent trips I traveled with good friends specifically to help out with their small children. Midday naps were crucial to having a good vacation! We chose a family suite at All Star Music Resort to have a kitchenette and a separate bedroom. It was the perfect solution for us.
As far as transportation goes, I would think about which park you plan to spend the most time in. If you plan to spend about the same amount of time in each park, it won't matter as much, but if you plan to spend most of your time at Magic Kingdom, you would want to choose a resort close by.
There are many options for
suites and villas in Walt Disney World Resorts. You did ask for recommendations so I'll tell you some of my favorites. The Wilderness Lodge offers a variety of suite options, including the popular junior suite. The suites at the Grand Floridian are pricey but exquisite and I have heard rave reviews about the suites at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts cannot be beat for their amazing pool and location close to Epcot.
If you consider the deluxe villas, my family enjoyed Bay Lake Tower, so close to Magic Kingdom, and BoardWalk Villas, close to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Family suites are available at All Star Music Resor
t and the Art of Animation Resort. The family suites are convenient, but they don't have as many transportation options.
I hope I've given you a start on the options available. Please let me know if I can help you with any other questions!
Best wishes for a magical vacation!
Amy H.
