Parade at Magic Kingdom

I am looking in the my Disney experience app, and I only see Pocahontas at Animal Kingdom and not Magic Kingdom, and since I’m visiting Magic Kingdom for my birthday, will Pocahontas be at Magic Kingdom on Sunday, July 27 during the cool kids summer event?

    Wingapo, Zoe!

You're just one week away from The Most Magical Place on Earth. Can you believe it? Thanks for once again making planDisney a part of your pixie-dusted preparations!

While the My Disney Experience app has several incredible features, as someone whose magical vacations are not complete until I've hugged Chip, Dale, Stitch, and Pluto, I think the Character Locator is one of its best. It's so convenient to know when and where you can expect to find beloved Disney pals. Now, you know we're all about advance planning here at planDisney, but I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't schedule each day so rigidly that there's not any wiggle room for a bit of pixie dust. Because of this, I've loved that Cool Kid Summer has embraced a bit of the spontaneity I remember from my childhood visits when it comes to character appearances. While the daily list in the My Disney Experience app will share guaranteed character experiences, I've noticed an increase in pixie-dusted pop-ups that aren't shared in the app during my recent visits. Earlier this summer, my husband and I spotted Jasmine and Aladdin strolling hand-in-hand through Adventureland, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee up to no good in Fantasyland, and Pocahontas near the gazebo in Liberty Square with zero wait! Of course, the surprise appearances are not guaranteed, but they're definitely worth keeping in mind. Since you're hoping to see Pocahontas, it can't hurt to swing by Liberty Square to see if she's out and about during your visit. If you happen to see a Cast Member nearby, I suggest asking to see if they have heard any rumors of her stopping by.

Oh, and since you mentioned that you'll be visiting Magic Kingdom Park, I hope you're adding Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away to your list of birthday must-dos. This new nighttime parade just debuted, and I've become obsessed with watching snippets of the parade on social media. It truly looks to be made of magic! Performances are currently scheduled for 9 PM and 11 PM during your visit (showtimes are subject to change), and I always suggest catching the later showing if possible, as it's typically much easier to snag a front row view without dedicating hours to secure your spot.

I hope this helps you plan a practically perfect birthday, Zoe, and that you'll come see us again at planDisney. You've got a friend in me!

    Thinking Happy Thoughts,
    Lizzie
