Looking at dinning planning, a child who can't eat egg, wheat, soy, peanut, or dairy. Can have counut or almond milk, like frozen fruit drinks. Will we able to finds things to eat. Can I see labels before hand? Plan ahead?

Hi, Rebecca, and welcome to planDisney!

Planning ahead for meals is one of my favorite parts of trip planning. It's always a good idea to look at menus and options to make sure everyone in your party can have something they will enjoy. This is especially important when someone has allergies. I've traveled with my nephew, who also has extensive food allergies, and I know how stressful it can be. Allow me to assure you that your child will have plenty of yummy and safe food!

The chefs at Walt Disney World are highly skilled in preparing meals for a wide variety of dietary needs, including allergies. A good place to start is by looking at menus of restaurants you're interested in. Many table-service and quick-service restaurants have online allergy-friendly menus. You'll find the allergy section near the bottom of the menu, if available. If the allergy-friendly menu isn't available online, many restaurants will still be able to accommodate your needs. In either case, speak with your server about your allergens before ordering and ask for a menu with allergen information, which is available at every table-service and many quick-service restaurants. Buffets will have a guide with allergen information instead of a menu. Once you receive your order, meals prepared according to your needs will be marked with a special marker, so keep an eye out for that. I also recommend confirming with your server that your meal was prepared free of your specific allergens just to be extra safe.

Because your child has multiple allergens, please contact Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com once you are within two weeks of your trip, and ask for a Special Diets Request Form. With the information you provide, they'll help you navigate through your options.

I wouldn't wait until two weeks before your trip to make dining reservations, though. Reservations for table-service restaurants can be made beginning 60 days in advance, and the more popular restaurants tend to book up quickly. If you're staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you can reserve dining for your entire stay, up to 10 days, beginning 60 days in advance of your check in date. Once it's time to contact Special Diets, your dining reservations will be helpful to them as they assist you.

Rebecca, I hope you have a delicious, safe and fun vacation. Please reach back out to us here at planDisney if you have any other questions.

    Have a magical trip!
