I am looking to make dining reservations in the next day or two for our upcoming trip to Disneyland. I am looking at the Blue Bayou and the Monte Cristin does not appear to be on the menu any longer? Please tell me this is temporary!

    Hi Rachel!

Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending this Disneyland Resort question our way. Dining in Disneyland Resort is such a treat; with all of the traditional theme park staples like popcorn, pretzels and churros, plus all of the seasonal snacks and actual restaurant favorites - I like to say that Disneyland is an Eat Park, too!

I sadly don't have the proper 'magic mirror' to see specifics of this delicious dish from the Disney side of Mickey's menu planning. However, I did do a lot of digging on TripAdvisor, Yelp and even the various Disney blogger websites and it seems like this sandwich tends to come and go from the Blue Bayou Restaurant dinner menu often. It makes me wonder if it's seasonal, or only served when other dishes are out of season, or if since the Blue Bayou Restaurant recently started offering adult beverages the dinner menu has changed to be more of a fancy dinner restaurant and sandwiches are sometimes seen as a lunchtime food.

I do have good news, which is that the beloved Battered & Fried "Monte Cristo" is available in two versions for both lunch and dinner at the nearby Cafe Orleans: the original with turkey, ham and Swiss as well as the all-cheese version featuring brie, Swiss and mozzarella. And for even more of a taste of The Big Easy, don't forget to save room for the famous Mickey-shaped beignets, available at the Mint Julep Bar which oftentimes features fun, seasonal flavors.

I'm sorry this didn't shed more light on the sandwich you were searching for, Rachel. But I know you'll have plenty of great things to try all around Disneyland Resort. And if you have any more Disneyland planning questions, We're All Ears!
