Hiya Jaymee,
Welcome to
planDisney! Thank you for visiting us today! I love dining at Walt Disney World Resort, so it is always a great day when I get to chat about dining.
Speaking of chatting, what a great question, Jaymee. My Mouseketeers are 3 and 1, so we haven’t had to think about this just yet, but I love learning something new. I talked to a Cast Member in Guest Services, and she told me that even though your child is considered an “adult” for the purposes of the
dining plans and theme park tickets, they are still a minor. So, unfortunately, you are not able to use their drink entitlements towards alcoholic beverages. Each Guest wishing to use the dining plan for an alcoholic beverage must be able to provide valid proof that they are 21 or older. If you wish to enjoy more than one alcoholic beverage (or one alcoholic beverage and one non-alcoholic beverage), you are welcome to pay for the additional beverage out of pocket. Just make sure to let the Cast Member know which beverages you want counted toward the dining plan and which you don’t.
I hope this was helpful, Jaymee. Before I let you go, can I share a quick dining tip? If you can, try using the
My Disney Experience mobile app to
Mobile Order your quick-service meals in advance, especially for lunchtime. Nothing is less fun than being hungry and standing in line waiting for food, especially with kids. Recently, we have started placing our orders earlier in the day and scheduling our Mobile Orders pickups for when we anticipate being hungry. It has been so nice! I always feel like a super mom when everyone starts getting hangry, and like magic, their lunch is ready for us to pick up. You can also do this with a dining plan, so it is a real lifesaver. If there is anything else you need, Jaymee, please come back and see us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
