I've been looking into dining at the california grill in the evening for the fireworks at MK for hubby's birthday (as suggested on here). I've read the dresscode but I'm wondering if it is a kid (ages 2 and 16 months) friendly menu and atmosphere. THNX

    Hi Dawn,

California Grill is one of my favorite places to dine at WDW and a great place to celebrate a birthday!  The food is great and the view of the Magic Kingdom is excellent!

I checked with a super helpful Cast Member regarding the children's menu (ages 9 and under).

Appetizer - Romaine Salad with Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

EntreesOak-fired Steak; Grilled Chicken Breast; Housemade Macaroni & Cheese, Roasted Salmon & Housemade whole wheat pizza.  All entrees are served with vegetables except for the pizza.

Dessert - Chocolate Pudding with whippedcream & Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (you can get this with Chocolate Fudge Sauce)

Please keep in mind that the menu can change at anytime but they do a good job of offering something for most everyone.

California Grill is a fine dining restaurant but I've seen a lot of kids there.  The atmosphere is little a quieter than some of the other restaurants but kids seem to enjoy it.  When my kids were younger, I made sure they got a good nap and that helped them through the meal.  I think overlooking the Magic Kingdom helps keep them entertained too.

Wishing you many magical memories and a pixie dust filled birthday for your husband :-) Allison
