Looking at DCL for Dec. 2013. Prices a lot less going 14th instead of 28th. Is missing New Years worth the savings?

    Hi Diana!

It all depends on your family's needs and preferences. One itinerary will most likely require you take the children out of school before the beginning of the winter break at your local school district. However, I can certainly understand the argument for paying a more economical cruise fare. These are but some of the factors you'll need to consider before making a final decision.

The longer New Year's Eve cruises typically offer two Formal Nights, with a New Year's Eve Deck Party taking place on December 31. Guests will generally receive gifts such as party hats, lithographs, and engraved champagne glasses. Everyone is dressed in gowns and tuxedos. Disney Characters come out to party, and there are special New Year's Eve fireworks at sea.

If your heart is truly set on celebrating New Year's Eve on a fabulous Disney Cruise, then I would say go ahead and book the December 28th itinerary. There is nothing like ringing in the New Year Disney Cruise-style!
