Mickey and Minnie Celebrating Halloween on the High Seas

I am looking at a 4 day cruise out of san diego in october to mexico. No set dates at this time wanting the least expensive dates and stateroom you have. We have a family of 6, 2 adults and 4 children, 4yo, 5yo, 7yo and 8yo. I would like one stateroom.

    Ahoy there, Angela!

Welcome aboard planDisney! It sounds like you're planning an incredible family adventure! With four little Mouseketeers in tow, a Halloween on the High Seas sailing from San Diego is sure to be filled with just the right mix of spooky fun and unforgettable family memories.

The not-so-enchanted news is that a family of six won't fit into a single standard stateroom. While there are a handful of Concierge-level staterooms aboard the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder that can accommodate up to seven Guests, they come with a much higher price tag. Since you're looking for the most budget-friendly option, I would recommend booking two connecting staterooms with one adult and two kiddos in each. Not only is this typically the most affordable choice, but the connecting door between the rooms makes it feel like one larger space without having to step into the hallway.

Pricing and availability can change faster than Hitchhiking Ghosts can appear in the Haunted Mansion, but right now a 4-night sailing aboard the Disney Magic departing on October 18 looks to be one of the most cost-effective options. At the moment, two connecting Inside Staterooms are priced at approximately $5,405.02 total. If your budget allows for a small upgrade, I'd also consider two connecting Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms, which are currently around $5,728.86 total.

It is a little more money, but I do recommend considering a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom. With four little adventurers, those portholes can be worth their weight in pixie dust! My kids always loved climbing into the window to watch for another ship or spot land in the distance, and it was the perfect distraction while we were getting everyone ready for dinner or the day's adventures.

Connecting staterooms are often some of the first to disappear on sailings, especially during Halloween on the High Seas season, so once you've settled on your preferred date, I recommend booking sooner rather than later. You can reserve your sailing online, but since you're booking multiple staterooms, I also wouldn't hesitate to give Disney a call if you'd like a Cast Member to help make sure everything is linked exactly the way you want.

I hope this helps as you begin planning a not-so-scary adventure for your entire crew! Before long, your little pirates, princesses, and trick-or-treaters will be making memories that are sweeter than a stop at Eye Scream Treats.

Sea ya real soon as the days grow longer and the countdowns grow shorter,
