Hello, Karen and welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so happy to chat with you about
cruising with Disney.
Karen, my family sailed out of New Orleans just last year and it was truly a
Magical sailing. On our cruise from the
port of New Orleans there WAS a pirate night and
shiver-me timbers, it was fun to let out our inner scallywags! You'll find that some guests participate in full pirate garb, while others are content to enjoy the merriment around them. Whichever camp you fall into (or maybe right in the middle), I know you'll enjoy this themed evening!
Now, let's chat about your ship. The
Disney Magic was the very first ship in the Disney fleet and is the perfect size for adventure (a bit smaller than the third, fourth and fifth ships to be introduced). While I love every bit of a cruise vacation, rotational dining might be my favorite. Each night you'll be assigned to one of three restaurants and rotate with your serving staff. Aboard the Disney Magic, you'll dine at
Animator's Palate,
Lumiere’s, and
Rapunzel’s Royal Table. You can even (for an additional charge) enjoy an adult's only meal at
Palo. My husband and I had brunch at Palo on our last sailing while my kids were in the kids' club and it was the perfect way to spend a leisurely morning on a day at sea! Karen, if you decide to book a table at Palo, make sure to go hungry because our table was overflowing with delicious dishes!
I hope that you enjoy all there is to see and do on board the Disney Magic. If you have any additional questions, just tell your pirate crew to set their sails toward planDisney where we'll be waiting with answers!
