Hi there, Becky!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!! I am so glad you stopped by with your question about an upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation! If this will be your first, I can say that it likely won’t be your last!! We love cruising with Captain Mickey because so much is already included with your reservation rate! You can expect non-stop entertainment, activities, food and so much more!
Castaway Cay is one of my favorite ports to stop at when on a Disney Cruise! And one of our favorite things to do is the Castaway Cay 5K!! Currently, it is offered on all sailings that visit Disney’s private island and you register for it at Guest Services once onboard! Guests meet onboard and as a group head to the starting line for the run (or walk…whichever you prefer!). All finishers receive a souvenir completion medal at the finish line and then you can either head to the beach to stake out your spot or head back to the ship to prepare for your day on the island! It is an event that we never miss and always look forward to! A word to the wise – it is definitely humid there, so prepare yourself by hydrating before!! I am from Texas and run outside regularly, but there is something about that humidity there that gets me every time! The Castaway Cay 5K is free for Guests to participate in, but is restricted to those Guests ages 10 and older. If you do have any younger Mouseketeers with you, you can drop them off at the island’s youth club, Scuttle’s Cove, where they can play while you get your 3.1 done!
There is so much fun that awaits you onboard a Disney Cruise Line vacation and I hope that as your planning continues you will come back with any additional questions you may have!
Best,
Stephanie
