Hello! Ahoy! Always happy to talk with a fellow Georgian, Charles, especially when the topic is my favorite Disney vacation: by land and by sea.
It sounds like you are ready to set sail on an epic adventure. For your group, you can
call Disney Cruise Line for assistance booking multiple staterooms and your
Walt Disney World Resort stay. While they make it easy, there is so much I want to tell you before you pick up the phone.
First, I always start my planning with the cruise. You can
search for cruises by the month(s) and the number of nights you want to be at sea. This port has so many options for itineraries with the
Disney Wish, the
Disney Fantasy, the brand-new
Disney Treasure which is setting sail in December, and the
Disney Magic coming to Port Canaveral in 2025.
The toddler will love "it's a small world" nursery. It was so convenient when my youngest was 2 to be able to schedule the nursery for nap times. Each ship has dedicated play spaces for kids ages 3 -9, like
Disney's Oceaneer Club. The spaces for adults are so amazing, we've cruised without kids!
Most of these itineraries include a stop at
Disney's Castaway Cay. The island is an extension of the cruise ship, with beach chairs, lunch, ice cream and soda fountains available and included with the cruise fare. There is the Pelican Plunge water slide, and you can snorkel and find hidden treasures (statues of Disney characters).
Once you have a general idea of when you want to cruise, Cast Members can help you with a
land and sea vacation package, with a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, theme park tickets, and transportation to and from Port Canaveral.
Whether you cruise first or go to the theme parks first is a hot debate, like starting the
EPCOT World Showcase in Mexico or Canada. I am
Team Parks First. I find it easier to leave Walt Disney World when I know a Disney Cruise is the next destination. I also enjoy relaxing after logging all the steps taken to enjoy my favorite attractions at
Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios and
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The Cast Members can help you with the perfect resort and even finding connecting rooms for your group. I am a big fan of resorts on the
Disney Skyliner. But with your children, easy access to the Magic Kingdom may be a bigger priority. No matter where you stay, Disney Transportation makes getting to all the parks a breeze.
Please come back to
planDisney with any other questions about your plans. We are here for you!
Adventure is Out There!
