Hi - looking at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness for my family of five (kids ages 5,3,2). I’m trying to minimize kids walking and using the internal bus system. If we rent a golf cart during our stay, can we park it at the launch when taking the boat to MK?

Howdy, Megan! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so glad you decided to mosey on over and sit a spell with us. Let's get you on the road to fun at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground!

I really love answering questions like yours because my family stays in one of those sweet little cabins at "the Fort" at least once a year. They truly have become just like a second home to us. The cabins are cute as well as convenient, and there's nothing better than enjoying your morning coffee on your private deck as the wilderness awakens for the day. Plus, there's so much to do at Fort Wilderness, from pony rides to fishing to bike riding to taking a dip in the splash-tacular Meadow Swimmin' Pool. I know your family will just love it!

When it comes to getting around the Fort, we always, always rent a golf cart. It just makes everything so much easier, including catching your ride to the Theme Parks. You'll find lots of golf cart parking both at the marina, where you hop aboard a boat for the Magic Kingdom Park, and at the bus depot near the front of the Resort for transportation to the other Theme Parks and Disney Springs. There's also golf cart parking at the shops, near the recreation area, and at Pioneer Hall, home of all the hand-clappin', knee-slappin' fun of the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. So go ahead and jump in that golf cart and start exploring!

I hope this helps you have a ton of fun at the Fort, Megan. Please come on back and see us again if you have any more questions, ya hear?

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
