Hi Steve!
Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm thrilled to hear you’ll be soaking up the sun on Castaway Cay this summer during your cruise on the
Disney Fantasy. You’ll have it made in the shade LITERALLY with a private cabana...something that comes quite in handy in the warm Bahamian sun.
Having experienced a Castaway Family Beach cabana, I think it’s the number one best way to chill out on
Castaway Cay. Hands down, the best features of the cabana are the private, comfortable space with shade, the ability to rinse off sand with a shower, and the hammock...perfect for napping after a bountiful lunch at Cookie’s BBQ. The cabana also boasts water, soda, and snacks. Sunscreen and towels are included, and there's even a Cast Member assigned to you if you need anything during your stay! Beyond the cabana itself, other included perks are snorkeling gear rental as well as tubes and floats.
Current pricing (including taxes) for a Castaway Family Beach cabana in peak season is $ 726.88 (up to 6 guests); $ 446.88 for the Serenity Bay cabanas (up to 4 guests); and $ 1,062.88 for the Grand Family Cabana (up to 10 guests). Pricing is subject to change at any time. Additional guests can be added to the reservation for $ 56 per person and capped at 10 guests for the Family Beach and Serenity Bay Cabanas, and up to 16 guests for the Grand Family Cabana. For Serenity Bay cabanas, since they arena the adults exclusive beach, all guests must be 18 years or older. Since your party size is 12, the only single cabana that can accommodate that number is the Grand Family Cabana. Your other option would be to try and book two cabanas.
Once your cruise is paid in full and your
advance booking window opens, go to "My Reservations" and then to "My Cruise Activities" for booking. You may already know this, but priority for reserving cabanas is given first to Concierge guests, then open for booking at different stages for
Castaway Club levels Platinum, Gold, and Silver, and then first time cruisers. There's simply no telling whether Cabana 5 or 6 will be available when your window opens. But my fingers are totally crossed that you get one for your sailing!
Cabanas are extremely popular, but let me assure you that if a cabana is not available when your advance booking window opens, keep checking back online as some guests may change their plans. Once onboard the Disney Fantasy, you can also stop by the
Port Adventures Desk (Deck 5, Midship) to add yourself to a waitlist; a Cast Member will notify you if a cabana becomes available during your sailing.
Have fun in the sun on Castaway Cay! Bon voyage!
