I am looking to see if i can buy a voucher for tickets to give to my wife for Christmas and allow her to purchase and find the date we would like to go. Is this possible? or do I need to schedule the date?

Hey there, hi there, James! Welcome to planDisney. We are so glad you've stopped by to ask us this very important question.

Oh my goodness! I am so excited to hear you are thinking about gifting your wife tickets for a Disneyland visit. How special! Unfortunately, there is no voucher or gift option like you are describing when purchasing tickets through Disneyland's website or app. You would need to purchase the tickets and make reservations to get through the purchase process. The good news is that you can purchase the tickets and make reservations for dates you think may work. Then once your wife is gifted these tickets and you are ready to plan, you can cancel or modify these reservations as many times as needed through the validity of the tickets.

If you are purchasing one-day tickets I would be aware of what day you are reserving during the purchase process because these tickets are tiered. A date can be tier 0-6. If you need to modify your original ticket, you can choose a new date that is the same or lower tier. So if you purchased a tier 2 ticket, you could only modify your reservation for a tier 0-2.

Once you gift the tickets and have time to sit down with your wife to make plans, I recommend taking a look at the 2024 events that Disneyland recently released. This may help you decide when you want to visit.

James, I am so excited for your wife to receive her gift. You know where to find us if you have any planning questions along the way!
