Looking for budget but enjoyable stay. Thinking AS Music but worried about quality. We are moderate people but on a value budget. IF ASMusic is the one - which is bets for location to bus. Also thinking POR - heard pool ot heated - true?

    Tricia:

Champagne taste on a beer budget?  I know the feeling!

Although the All-Star resorts are not what you'd consider 4- or 5-star accommodations, don't let their small room size or cost equate them to a similar economical hotel off-property.  You'll find these resorts deliver customer service that's unparalleled for the price, in my opinion.  What impresses me the most?  How well-kept the rooms are.  We've never had the "moisture" and "mildewy" problems that so many economical hotels off-site offer in the hot, sticky Florida weather--nor the abundance of Disney photo ops!  The Values are well-themed, the pool's large, and they have playgrounds for both young kids and older ones.

O.K. I'm off my soap box....If you want to be near the bus stop at All-Star Music, request the Calypso buildings (the back side if you want a quieter room).  Just keep in mind that Disney can't guarantee every request.  FYI: The main bus stop for all the Value Resorts is at the front of each hotel complex where you check-in.

If you decide to upgrade to Port Orleans, you'll get more more space (over 50 square feet more), a slide at the pool which, to answer your question, has 82 degree water in the cold months for year-round swimming, plus lush grounds (especially if you stay at Magnolia Bend.  What gives Port Orleans a leg up over not only the Value Resorts, but also the other Moderates, is its boat access to Downtown Disney.

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
