Oh, Susan!
This is such an exciting time for your family. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help you plan the celebration surrounding your son's proposal to his soon-to-be fiancée. As someone who honeymooned at Walt Disney World Resort 28 years ago, I agree that it is a magical and romantic place.
There are a few places near Disney's BoardWalk Inn where you can purchase a bottle of champagne. Les Vins de France is in the France Pavilion at Epcot. It is not far from the International Gateway entrance which is within walking distance of Disney's BoardWalk. The Screen Door General Store along Disney's BoardWalk also sells champagne (and glasses you could serve it in). However, the bottles of champagne at these establishments would not be cold. If you put a collapsible cooler in your backpack on the morning of the proposal, you may be able to fill that cooler with ice from the ice machine at Disney's BoardWalk Inn to chill the champagne.
If the proposal takes place during the hours that
Flying Fish or
Trattoria al Forno are open, you'd likely have more luck purchasing a cold bottle of champagne directly from them. If you choose this route, I suggest calling Disney Dining at (407) WDW-DINE, or (407) 939-3463, to ask for the direct line to these restaurants to see if they would be willing to accommodate your request.
Alternately, if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you could have champagne sent to your room by
Disney Floral & Gifts. They have lovely options including champagne, glasses and flowers to celebrate your special occasion.
Wishing your son and future daughter-in-law many magical years together,
Jill
