Hi Steven!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney! I love those early stages of planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, don't you? It's so exciting to start thinking about where you will stay and what you'll be able to do on your trip. Sometimes I think I can even taste the Mickey-shaped pretzel and smell the popcorn as I imagine walking down Main Street, U.S.A.!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a perfect destination if you're looking to take a walk on the wild side! My family and I stayed here a few years ago and I have some of my most cherished memories watching my son look for animals from the balcony of our Savanna View room - he found a bunch! Animal Kingdom Lodge is also home to some great dining.
Sanaa is a table service restaurant offering sweeping savanna views while you dine. Trust me, you won't want to miss the bread service!
Boma - Flavors of Africa is a popular option for families featuring a wide array of items on their buffet including some unique African-inspired dishes. Finally, my parents watched our kids while we enjoyed a wonderful date night a
Jiko - The Cooking Place, one of the signature dining experiences in Walt Disney World Resort.
If you choose to rent a car while staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, you will be happy to know that guests of
Disney Resorts Collection hotels enjoy
complimentary self-parking both at your resort and at the theme parks! You should also be able to pull up to the entrance of the resort to unload your luggage before proceeding to park your car. While traffic conditions may vary throughout the day, you should be able to drive to most destinations within the Walt Disney World Resort in 10 - 20 minutes.
You also can decide to let Disney do the driving if you want, as
complimentary transportation is provided around Walt Disney World Resort. From Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, you can access bus transportation to Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs! With the
My Disney Experience Mobile App, you'll even be able to view the estimated arrival time for the next bus leaving your resort.
Steven, I hope you have fun planning your upcoming visit and invite you to come see us again at planDisney with any other questions you may have!
See ya real soon,
Kristi
