Hi Jessica and welcome back to planDisney.
A split stay is a great way of being able to experience everything that two different
Disney Resort hotels have to offer, during one trip and with so many amazing Disney Resort hotels to choose from, I can completely understand you considering this option.
Unfortunately, as you need to book a Hotel + Ticket package in order to take advantage of the Free Dining & Drinks promotion, this means that if you were to book a split stay, you would only be eligible for the
Free Dining & Drinks in 2026! deal on the booking which includes your tickets.
The only way to qualify for the Free Dining & Drinks promotion during your second 7-night stay, would be to purchase a second set of
Disney Magic Tickets which you obviously would not need.
I'm so sorry that this likely wasn't the news that you were hoping for.
If I were in this situation, I would price up a 2-week stay at Pop Century Resort including 14-Day Disney Magic Tickets and upgrading the free Quick-Service Meal to the Quick-Service Dining Plan and then compare this against the cost of a 2-week stay at Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter including 14-Day Disney Magic Tickets and a free Quick-Service Dining Plan.
Once you have calculated what the difference is, you will be able to decide whether, or not, you feel that it is worth the additional cost to stay at Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter.
When my family visit Walt Disney World, we generally tend to stay at the Value Resort hotels as we spend very little time at our hotel and prefer to have the extra money to put towards
Character Dining, merchandise or
Enchanting Extras.
My family spent 2-weeks at
Pop Century Resort in August and we had a brilliant time. My daughter really enjoyed the Hippy Dippy Pool, seeing all of the larger than life icons located throughout the resort and being able to use the
Disney Skyliner, as a mode of transport, was a real bonus!
Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is however, also a lovely place to stay with a fabulous Mardi-Gras themed pool complete with a giant sea serpent slide and a single bus stop. It's close proximity to
Disney Springs is handy if you plan to spend time there and the horse-drawn carriage rides are also a lot of fun.
I hope that this information has been of use, Jessica. Please feel free to re-visit us, here at planDisney, if we can be of any other help with the planning of your 2026 trip. You can even
ask me a question directly if you would like a UK perspective on anything at all.
Wishing you a magical holiday filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
Emma
