Ahoy Christopher!
Look at you, being all adventurous and wanting to try a new port for your Disney cruise! That will mean a new cruise ship, too...adding the
Disney Magic to your Disney Cruise Line passport. I must admit, being able to check all four ships in the Disney fleet off my bucket list made me super proud. Now I have to make room for the Disney Wish, which will be setting sail Summer 2022.
First and foremost, make sure that your arrival flight gets into Miami International Airport no later than 1:45PM on your sailing date. If you don’t want to worry about getting to the port on your own, Disney Cruise Line does offer ground transportation to and from Miami International Airport and PortMiami.
Ground transfers can be added by
contacting Disney Cruise Line at least three days prior to your voyage.
That said, my preference is always to fly in the day before the cruise just to make sure flight delays or cancellations do not derail my sailing. No need to board the ship a ball of nerves and stress because of travel snafus...or not be able to board at all. In that case, I would have to figure out transportation to PortMiami because airport transfers are available on embarkation and debarkation days only.
As far as guidelines for your departing flight once your cruise is completed, Disney Cruise Line recommends 11:30 A.M. as the EARLIEST departure time to ensure arrival to the airport from PortMiami. You will have to check the airlines servicing your area to see what the flight options are for your Debarkation Day. Since Miami is an international airport with hundreds of flights leaving every day, I’ll bet you have no difficulty making your return flight arrangements.
Fly back to planDisney if you have more questions as you continue to plan this MAGICal adventure.
Happy Sailing!
