Welcome to planDisney, Hannah! I am happy to hear that you will be booking a Disney Cruise Line vacation real soon.
All U.S. citizens, regardless of age, need a valid U.S. passport, U.S. passport card, or original state-issued birth certificate. Guests who are at least 16 years old and are using their original birth certificate also need a government-issued photo ID. Mobile and digital state-issued IDs are not acceptable for sailing.
After you book your sailing, you can purchase your
ground transfers through Disney Cruise Line as well. If you plan to fly into Orlando before embarkation day, ground transfers to
Port Canaveral can be made from the
Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels, the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport, and the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront. Ground transfers between the Orlando International Airport and the port are only on embarkation and debarkation days.
The car seat can be stored anywhere in your stateroom on the ship. I suggest trying the closet first. If you have a smaller car seat or booster seat, it could fit under the bed. If you are concerned about needing a car seat for the travel to and from the port, most of the time this is on a motorcoach, and a car seat is not required. Disney Cruise Line will have the ages of the members of your traveling party on file, so if you are assigned a different type of vehicle for transportation, the need for a car seat will be noted. If you use a rideshare service, you will be responsible for providing your own car seat. If you use a non-Disney transport service, you need to confirm the need for a car seat with them.
Hannah, if you have any other questions, feel free to sail back to visit us at
planDisney.
Happy Planning!
